About soaring weather in France
France is huge for soaring. Saint-Hilaire, Annecy, Chamonix, Saint-André, Laragne, the Pyrenean ridges around Saint-Lary and Luchon, and the Massif Central sites at Millau and Le Puy all sit inside the same country and almost none of them share a forecast situation.
AROME at 1.3 km is a strong public reference for short-range French weather, and France is one of the clearest cases where the question is what Convek adds as soaring-specific post-processing rather than as a cheaper raw model. /v1/site, /v1/grid, /v1/corridor and /v1/sounding on a French domain is the value, not the underlying numerical core.
France as a single domain is also large, so Convek may end up running the country as multiple sub-domains rather than one rectangle. Day-window and sounding labels would use Europe/Paris.
